M24 Chaffee in combat

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this outstanding article, especially the photos, line drawings and specifications of this beautiful machine. I am currently laying out the plans for a 1/6 scale model of this tank, and the effort you have put into this presentation is invaluable to me.

If anyone is wondering, my 1964 G.I. Joe Tank Commander has been waiting 57 years for a proper vehicle, and by the end of 2022 he will have it.

I spent most of my life on Active Duty and training soldiers since.    I served in many countries, 5 years in Armor, 15+ in MI, being around and living in AFVs for much of 20+ years.    Ever Since, I’ve built models, researched, traveled to see, and worked on AFVs.   Your post on Matilda’s is the best researched I’ve seen outside my military sources here at NPS (Knox Library), DLI/FLC at Presidio of Monterey, and Fort Ord (OMC).    The libraries there are awesome.    Still, I have to say that you are at the top of the pile of well researched and interesting researchers.    Thank you and I look forward to reading more of your research.    Iron Horsemen!
